Thought For Today (and Everyday)

"I'd like to ask God why He lets poverty and injustice exist, why there are so many orphans and why He does nothing about it.....but I am afraid He will ask me the same question".

It just really, really hit me - great minds think alike :) Congratulations on beginning your journey to whatever child or children God has for you!!! Our family will be "following" along. It's so exciting to let go of what the world deems of value and embrace what God finds value in - Life! So don't let the paperwork and details get you down :)

My face may be different
But my feelings the same

I laugh and I cry
And I take pride in my gains

I was sent here among you
To teach you to love
As God in the heavens
Looks down from above

To Him I'm no different
His love knows no bounds
It's those here among you
In cities and towns

That judge me by standards
That man has imparted
But this family I've chosen
Will help me get started

For I'm one of the children
So special and few
That came here to learn
The same lessons as you

That love is acceptance
It must come from the heart
We all have the same purpose
Though not the same start

The Lord gave me life
To live and embrace
And I'll do it as you do

Eyes

I found this on a Kind Adoptive Family's Blog:

They look at you and see psychological delays.
I look at you and see eyes that watch my every move, hands that copy my every gesture and a little bit of stubbornness that tells me you can conquer the world if you decide that’s what you want to do.

They look at you and see physical delays.
I look at you and see feet that need to be straightened so that you can walk.

They look at you and see severe speech delays.
I look at you and hear the sounds you are making to copy mine, the mouth that is moving to follow mine and that determined look in your eye that tells me you are trying to figure out how to make your mouth and that sound happen at the same time.

They look at you and see anemia and digestion issues.
I look at you and see that you need to be taught the correct way to eat and to be fed the proper foods.

They look at you and see a disability that makes you different.
I look at you and see a smile that can light up a room and a laugh that warms my heart. I see hands that reach for me when I enter the room and pat my back when I hug you.

They look at you and see nothing.
I look at you and see Jesus.I wish I could give them my eyes.
